A portrait of Rhonda Lynn Illsley's Rottie, DesiThis page is dedicated to the pets we have loved and lost, who we will never cease to miss no matter how much time goes by. Over the years I have done many drawings of friend's dogs that have died, and unfailingly have gotten tearful yet happy thanks for the effort. Every memorial drawing is created with the utmost respect and care, to give the recipient a special token of the life they had once shared.

Frolicn's Desi Von Edelhart

In the fall of 2000 I lost my beloved Desi to cancer, about 3 weeks after her 8th birthday. It was the worst day of my life. I had never done a drawing of her while she was still alive, and so undertook it (although it was extremely painful) as the best way to make a final tribute to her. See portraits of her brothers, Dytre and Dasko Dog Portrait page, and half-sister Brady, below.

Anyone who has lost a pet (no matter the species) needs and appreciates the support of friends, and their understanding of how big a loss they have experienced. Don't forget to send a card, make a call, and tell your friend that you know how hard it is for them.

Please take a few moments to read the following words of some special people who have lost special friends.
